The approach
Dr. Kate uses craniosacral releases and other light, hands-on techniques instead of forceful adjustments. Treatment is calm and unhurried, and she explains what she's doing as she goes.
She trained as a physical therapist before becoming a chiropractor, so each visit draws on both: careful assessment, hands-on work, and practical movement guidance.
Most people come in for neck, shoulder or back pain and stiffness. Whether it's new or has been around for a while, Dr. Kate will listen first and tailor the visit to you.

About Dr. Kate
Dr. Kate holds two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and a Doctor of Chiropractic. Few practitioners are trained in both, so you get both kinds of care in one visit, from one person.
She began her career as a physical therapist, earning her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Vermont. She went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences.
She has cared for patients at this Santa Barbara office on Anacapa Street since about 2004. Her style blends the two fields: gentle chiropractic techniques, including craniosacral releases, alongside the hands-on assessment and movement work of physical therapy.
